		Scarlet Snow Walking outside into the cold, A seemingly pleasant day, A blanket of snow, Fresh and new covered the ground. I look around my yard, Watching a dog play alone, Snow covering his fur, Smiling as I see you walk over. We begin talking, You smile warming me, You lean down kissing my lips, Welcoming your embrace happily. My eyes pop open, Awoken from my wonderful dream, I find myself with beads of sweat, Rolling down my face. Walking outside into the fresh snow, I see something lying face down, Walking over I see a person, Kneeling down turning them over. A scream escapes my lips, Your face numb with cold, I run a finger down your slender cheek, Tears beginning to run down my face. I hold you close, You limp body against mine, Wishing this was only a dream, The scarlet snow melting in the sun.
